FAQs

Can I skip a payment on my mortgage?

Skip-A-Payments are not permitted on mortgage loans.

Does my home equity line of credit (HELOC) have a variable or fixed interest rate?
All Cyprus HELOCs have a variable rate tied to the Wall Street Journal Prime Rate.
What happens when my HELOC matures?

Once your HELOC matures, the line of credit will be shut off; however, payments will continue to be due for a fixed time period. For more details, refer to your mortgage documents or contact our Mortgage Servicing team at 801-260-7600 (ext. 5350) or ServicingDepartment@CyprusCU.com.

What first-mortgage payment options do I have?

First mortgages have three different payment options:

  • Minimum payment

Due on the first day of each month.

  • Principal only

Once the minimum monthly payment has been completed, principal-only payments can be made at any time throughout the remainder of the month to pay down the principal balance of the mortgage.

  • Additional escrow

Additional escrow payments can be made at any time.

Partial payments are NOT accepted at any time.
