Teen Savings

One of the most important parts of saving for teens is having a safe place to keep their money. With a Cyprus savings account, your teen will be able to:

  • Earn interest on any positive balance
  • Make a deposit at any branch or through Mobile Banking
  • Know their money is protected by the NCUA

Dream Certificate

Help your teen achieve their dreams with a Dream Certificate from Cyprus Credit Union. With higher interest rates than traditional savings, this account is a great option for saving for college, a first car, or vacation. A Dream Certificate can be opened with as little as $20 and money can be added throughout the savings term.

Teen Checking

With no annual or monthly fees or minimum balance requirements, a checking account from Cyprus is a great way to teach your teen how to handle their finances. Those under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian as a joint account owner.

Visa Debit Card

Your teen’s debit card can be used wherever Visa is accepted. It’s safer than cash because their money is protected if the card is lost or stolen. Cyprus can also put safeguards into place to eliminate the risk of overdraft fees. Our free account alerts let your teen use their card with confidence, keeping them and yourself updated on current balances.

ATM Card

An ATM gives your teen free access to their money at any Cyprus ATM, CO OP ATM, or any 7-11 ATM. With overdraft protection, your teen can’t withdraw more money than what is in their account. Every card has a customized pin which will protect their account in the event that their card is lost or stolen.

Card Control App

Take charge of your credit and debit cards with our Card Control app. You now have the ability to turn your Visa cards on & off and set restrictions for your card. Set alerts that will notify you immediately for all card activity so you’re always in control. Download the free app on your phone to get started. Available in the App Store and Google Play.

Home Banking

The rail navigation utilizes arrow, enter, escape, and space bar key commands. Left and right arrows expand / close menus in sub levels. Up and Down arrows will navigate through top tier links. Enter and space opens menus and escape closes them as well. Tab will move on to the next part of the site rather than go through menu items.

Despite its importance, many states do not require any sort of financial literacy class for high school students. This means that many teens are entering the ‘real world’ without a foundation of basic financial knowledge. To help combat this, we have created our ‘Teen Financial Toolkit’. Each post focuses on a new financial topic and provides tips, tricks, and financial goals that teenagers can start now.
