New Visa Upgrades

Cyprus Credit Union is planning exciting upgrades to our debit and credit cards in 2024. To prepare for these upgrades, you will receive a new Visa debit and/or credit card from Cyprus Credit Union this May.

You've received your new Visa card. Now what?

  • Activate your new card before June 3, 2024. To activate, call the number on the sticker attached to the card. Once activated, your new card will be ready for use. After June 3, your old card will be deactivated.

  • As part of the activation process, you will be prompted to set a new PIN. You can use your current PIN or select a new one. Please note that Cyprus employees will never call or email you to ask for your PIN.

  • Update your card information with any merchants who keep your card information on file. This will prevent your automatic payments from being disrupted.

  •  Load your new card number into your mobile wallet (Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, etc.).

Integrated Card Controls
Enhanced card management tools in Home Banking, including the integration of card controls into the Cyprus CU Mobile Banking app. All of your Visa information and tools will now be accessible from a single app.

Travel Notes Feature
A new travel notes feature to conveniently add travel notes on your card in Home Banking and Mobile Banking.

Seamless Card Replacement
A digital preview of your card number in Home and Mobile Banking when your card is being replaced — so you can continue using your card online without interruption.


Improved Rewards Access
An improved rewards program with easier access to rewards redemption. Accessible through both Home Banking and the Mobile Banking app.


Enhanced Dispute Resolution
A streamlined dispute resolution process, resulting in shorter time frames for resolution.


Advanced Security
Additional security measures and fraud prevention tools to safeguard your transactions effectively.


Q: Why am I receiving a new card?
A: Cyprus Credit Union is planning exciting upgrades to our Visa card services in 2024. As part of these upgrades, you have been issued a new debit and/or credit card.

Q: How do I activate my new Cyprus debit and/or credit card?
A: Call 1-833-455-2582 to activate your new card. You will be prompted to choose a PIN during the call.

Q: Will my mobile wallet automatically update my card information?
A: No, the information for your new Cyprus debit and/or credit card must be manually updated in your mobile wallet (Apple Pay, Samsung Pay, etc.).

Q: Can I get a replacement card at a branch if it gets lost, stolen, or damaged?
A: Not until later in 2024. As the Visa upgrade continues through the year, instant card reissues will be temporarily unavailable at branches.

Q: I have recurring payments and subscription charges set up to automatically charge my card. Will I need to update my card information with those merchants?
A: To prevent disruptions to your automatic payments and subscription services, Cyprus is working with thousands of national vendors to update your card information automatically. However, we recommend verifying that your card has been updated with any merchants who have your card information saved for automatic payments. You will need to update your card information with any online merchants where it is saved.

Q: I am expecting a refund on my old debit/credit card. Will my refund still come through?
A: Refunds pending on your old card will continue to be posted to your account even if the old card is no longer active.


What will happen to my reward points?

Your reward points are being moved from Scorecard Rewards to Dream Rewards.

  • You will continue earning reward points on the current Scorecard Rewards platform until June 3. After that date, points from purchases will be accrued on the new Dream Rewards system.
  • The Dream Rewards website will be accessible starting the week of June 24. Current Rewards card users will receive an email with online login instructions.
  • You may redeem points on the Scorecard Rewards website until June 30.
  • Your total reward points — regardless of whether they were originally accrued on Scorecard Rewards or Dream Rewards — will be displayed on the Dream Rewards platform the week of July 8.
