WHAT WILL CHANGE AFTER THE UPGRADE?

If you have multiple Cyprus accounts, you might find it challenging to keep track of all your different member numbers. Sometimes this can make managing your accounts just a bit more difficult, whether you’re online, in a branch, or on the phone with a credit union representative. The systems upgrade will help alleviate this issue. Cyprus employees will now be able to see all of your accounts in one place rather than looking them up individually. No worries if you can’t remember each of your different member numbers exactly.

Additionally, all of the accounts you are authorized to transact on will display when you access home and mobile banking. For example, you will no longer be required to have a different login for each of your individual member numbers. Instead, you’ll be able to see all of your Cyprus accounts using a single login. For members who have electronic statements, this also means you will be able to view each of your account statements without having to log into multiple accounts online.

If you are a primary account owner and currently share a Home Banking login with a joint owner, be advised that the joint owner will able to see each account you are authorized to transact on after the systems upgrade. If desired, primary owners and joint owners may create separate logins once the upgrade is complete. This will allow joint owners to view only accounts they are authorized to transact on. In some instances, it will be possible to set up separate logins before the upgrade takes place.

Will this change how Home Banking works?
The main difference is that members with multiple accounts will now be able to access each of them with a single login. The basic design, functionality, and layout of Home Banking and the app will remain largely unaffected.

How will this affect statements?
Neither electronic nor paper statements will be affected by the upgrade. Statements will continue being issued for each individual account number rather than grouping information from multiple accounts into a single statement.

SYSTEMS UPGRADE FAQs

General Upgrade Questions

Why is Cyprus doing this upgrade?

We are upgrading our systems to help the credit union remain current with evolving technology and increase our efficiencies as we serve our valued members. This upgrade will also significantly reduce future downtimes affecting our members.

Why will the branches be closed, and why will Home Banking be unavailable?

The final steps of the upgrade will impact normal functions of the systems we use to service member accounts and run home banking. Because of this, all Cyprus branches and Home/Mobile banking will be closed or unavailable on Saturday, October 30th and Sunday, October 31st. This time will also be used to conduct quality control to ensure that systems are ready to go on Monday, November 1st.

Will I be able to apply for a loan or credit card during the upgrade?

All online loan applications must be submitted before 5:00 PM on Thursday, October 28th. Members may still apply for loans at a branch or over the phone until 6:00 PM on Friday, October 29th. After that, no applications (including online applications) will be accepted again until Monday, November 1st.

Will my member number change?

No, your member number will stay the same; however, account suffixes will be changing from a 2- or 3-digit letter-number combo to a 4-digit number. For example: A Dream Checking account is currently your member number followed by “S5.” After the upgrade, your Dream Checking account will be your member number followed by “0500.” You can view an example of the old and new suffix types for our most used products in the FAQ section of cypruscu.com/upgrade.

Will Cyprus’ routing number change?

No, Cyprus Credit Union’s routing number will remain the same.

Will my statements look the same?

Yes, both paper and e-statements will look the same after the upgrade.

How can I contact the Credit Union during the upgrade?

Members can contact the credit union during normal business hours over the phone on Saturday or by direct-messaging us on social media.

While we are happy to answer member questions as best we can, our abilities will be limited during the system upgrade. Services we will NOT be able to provide include (but are not limited to) balance inquiries, transaction-history questions, balance transfers, wires, and cardholder disputes.

Home Banking & Mobile App Questions

Will the upgrade change Home Banking or the Mobile Banking app?

The basic design and functionality of our online Home Banking service and our Mobile Banking app will remain the same. However, there are two changes members will see. These are addressed below:

Switching from an account-centric system to a person-centric system

The upgrade will convert our systems from an account-centric layout to a person-centric layout. This means accounts will now be tied to the individual member instead of the member being tied to the each of their respective accounts. This means you can now use one account or login to access every account you are authorized to transact on, both in branches and in Home/Mobile Banking. You will no longer need to manage multiple logins and passwords for Home Banking, nor will you need to logout and login to manage multiple unlinked accounts. One login will allow you to see every account you are authorized to transact on.

This also means that anyone who shares your Home Banking login (such as a joint-owner) will be able to see all available accounts you are authorized to transact on. If you currently share a login for Home/Mobile Banking and do NOT want the joint-owner to see all of your accounts, a separate login must be created for them.

If the joint-owner already has a personal Cyprus account of their own, they can enroll in Home Banking under their personal account at any time (if they don’t already have their own Home Banking login). After the upgrade, they can use this login to access Home/Mobile banking, where they will see all the accounts they are authorized to transact on, including accounts on which they are joint-owner.

If the member is a joint-owner ONLY and does not have a Cyprus account of their own, they will not be able to enroll for their own login until after the upgrade (Monday, Nov. 1, 2021). If you are concerned that the joint-owner who shares your login will have access to all of your accounts, you can change your username and password prior to the upgrade; then, have the joint-owner enroll in Home Banking once the upgrade is complete. Once enrolled, the joint-owner will only see the accounts they are individually authorized to transact on.

If you would like to find out more on how to set up separate logins for joint-owners, visit us at cypruscu.com/upgrade.

Changes in account suffixes

Account suffixes will be changing from a 2- or 3-digit letter-number combo to a 4-digit number. For example: A Dream Checking account is currently your member number followed by “S5.” After the upgrade, your Dream Checking account will be your member number followed by “0500.” This means that your account numbers will look a bit different on Home/Mobile Banking, i.e., XXXXXX-S5 will now be XXXXXX0500. Also, when using Home/Mobile Banking to transfer funds to another Cyprus member, you will now use the new suffix types when setting up the transfer.

You can view an example of the old and new suffix types for our most used products in the FAQ section of cypruscu.com/upgrade.

Will I need to redownload the app or re-enroll in Home/Mobile Banking?

No, there will be no need to redownload or re-enroll in Home/Mobile Banking.

How can I create a separate username for a joint-owner on my account?

It all depends on what accounts the joint-owner has. If they have an account of their own, they can enroll in Home Banking on their personal account before the upgrade (if they don’t already have their own login). This will allow them to set up their own username. If the joint-owner has no account of their own (i.e., they are just a joint-owner), they will need to wait until after the upgrade to enroll in Home Banking under their own username.

Payment Questions

Will my direct deposits be affected by the upgrade?

If you are expecting an automatic deposit (such as payroll) to your Cyprus account on Saturday, October 30th or Sunday, October 31st, those deposits will be posted to your account on Monday, November 1st.

Can I use Bill Pay during the Upgrade?

The upgrade will not affect any payments you have scheduled in Bill Pay because our system does not send out Bill Pay payments on Saturdays or Sundays.

If you need to set up a new payment or cancel an existing payment, you will need to do so before 6:00 PM on Friday, October 29th. Online Bill Pay will not be available again until Monday, November 1st.

Funds Access Questions

Will I be able to withdraw cash during the upgrade?

Yes, members will be able to withdraw cash from ATMs during the upgrade.

Will my Cyprus debit/credit/ATM cards work?

Yes, your cards will continue to work. If you plan on using your debit or credit card for a large purchase during the upgrade, we recommend being prepared by having an alternative method of payment on hand, just in case.

Can I view balances at the ATM during the upgrade?

Account balances will NOT be viewable at ATMs on Saturday, October 30th and Sunday, October 31st.

Can I use Shared Branching during the upgrade?

Shared Branching services will NOT be available on Saturday, October 30th & Sunday, October 31st. During this time, you will be unable to carry out Shared Branching transactions at other credit unions.
