Some Cyprus members have a little extra space in their filing cabinets today. On Wednesday evening, Cyprus Credit Union hosted a document shred day at our branch located at 2769 S 5600 W in West Valley City. Rocky Mountain Document Destruction was on-site to properly dispose of members’ old or confidential papers. In addition to Rocky Mountain’s regular services, Marvin Acey (one of the business owners) said the company participates in about two dozen public shredding events per year and destroys approximately 30 tons of documents each month. We look forward to our next shred day and will keep you posted when a date has been determined.

Cyprus was excited to present a donation of $6,000 to TreeUtah on 7/28/2021. TreeUtah plants trees throughout Utah's public spaces and school playgrounds. The organization also focuses on ecological restoration projects along the Jordan River and Wasatch Mountains. The funds for the donation were raised through Cyprus' E-statement promotion, an effort to reduce the Credit Union's paper consumption. During the promotion in 2019 and 2020, both existing and new Cyprus members were given the option to begin receiving their statements electronically rather than by mail. For every member who chose to enroll in e-statements, Cyprus set aside a donation for TreeUtah. With the delivery of those funds this month, Cyprus Credit Union would like to thank its membership for their participation in this initiative and for their green thinking!
