Yesterday marked the first Mobile School Pantry event of the school year at Columbia Elementary School. Thank you to our Cyprus team members who helped the Utah Food Bank distribute food to the students and their families.
Last week, Cyprus Credit Union was pleased to visit Neighborhood House in Salt Lake City and present them with a donation of baby wipes, waterproof sheets, and adult diapers. For 128 years, Neighborhood House has worked to provide affordable support and day care for both children and adults in Utah. Originally starting out as a public kindergarten, the needs of the community prompted the addition of other services, making the organization a gathering place for Utahns.
Thanks to all of our members who enrolled in electronic "eStatements," Cyprus Credit Union was able to present a check for $6,415 to TreeUtah on Thursday morning, 7/7/2022. TreeUtah plants trees throughout Utah's public spaces and carries out ecological restoration projects along the Jordan River and Wasatch Mountains.
Cyprus Credit Union’s Hurricane branch is officially open! A ribbon-cutting ceremony kicked off the grand opening on Friday, June 17 with Cyprus employees & management, city officials, community members, and others in attendance. The much-anticipated branch is the credit union’s newest location and the first to be opened in southern Utah. Currently, it also serves as the only CO-OP Shared Branch in Hurricane. Members of the credit union and the community are invited to visit the branch located at 250 W. State St. in Hurricane.
Over 150,000 diapers were donated to the Utah Diaper Bank this spring during KUTV’s first annual diaper drive. The initiative, for which Cyprus Credit Union was a proud sponsor, also generated monetary contributions from the community totaling $5,331.80. The funds were presented to the diaper bank by Cyprus this past Tuesday, June 7.
The Utah Diaper Bank was founded in 2013 by Vic Velivis. The organization currently distributes an average of 75,000 diapers per month. To learn more about the Utah Diaper Bank, visit their website here
Cyprus congratulates the 11 winners of the credit union’s 2022 scholarship program. Each of the high school seniors were presented with a check for $1,000 in May to go toward their continuing education. We wish them all the best in their college careers!
20 new trees now have a home in Westpointe Park in Salt Lake City. Cyprus employees volunteered to help plant the trees at a public planting event hosted by TreeUtah last Saturday, May 14, 2022. Thank you for all who came out to help with the event.

Cyprus Credit Union is honored to have been awarded and recognized by People Helping People (PHP) at their Volunteer Appreciation & Awards Event on April 21st. The award followed the non-profit's Resume Readiness Day last month, in which Cyprus employees assisted PHP by reviewing their clients' resumes.
PHP is an organization "dedicated to helping low-income women and single moms reach their full potential in the workplace” (phputah.org).
Each year, the Jordan Education Foundation honors superior educators who are making a difference in the lives of their students. Cyprus Credit Union is proud to have sponsored two local elementary-school teachers in 2022 who were recognized as Outstanding Educators of the Year. Congratulations to Cyndi Anderson at Oakcrest Elementary School and Sabrina Drake at Columbia Elementary School. Thank you for making a difference in the lives of the students in our community!
Members of the greater-Salt-Lake community came together this past week for the National Multiple Sclerosis Society’s (NMSS) Walk MS event. Cyprus Credit Union was a proud sponsor of the walk, which raised money for NMSS’ efforts to fund MS research and care for those impacted by the disease. The walk took place at Veterans Memorial Park in West Jordan on Saturday, April 23, 2022. Cyprus was one of multiple organizations with booths stationed along the walk’s route.
As Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) of the Intermountain Area gets ready for their annual Spirit of Children Gala this month, Cyprus Employees had the opportunity to volunteer time this past week to help them prepare for the event. The gala, which is one of RMHC’s most important fundraising events, will take place at the Grand America Hotel in Salt Lake City on Saturday, April 23, 2022.

With Cyprus preparing to open a new location in Hurricane, Utah, our employees there took the time to lend a helping hand at the Utah Food Bank in St. George. We’re excited for more opportunities like this to serve the community in southern Utah!
$19,000 was raised at the 2022 Bowl for Kids’ Sake: Bowl-ympics presented by Big Brothers Big Sisters of Utah (BBBSU). Cyprus was a proud sponsor and participant at the event on March 23.
The “Bowl-ympics” was part of a series of BBBSU events to support their mission to “create and support one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the power and promise of youth” (BBBSU.org).
Cyprus employees volunteered at the Community Nursing Service’s (CNS) Art & Soup event on March 16-17. The event featured artwork by 50 Utah artists, with food donated by 20 restaurants.
CNS is a Utah healthcare agency specializing in at-home patient care. Proceeds from Art & Soup went to the CNS Charitable Care Program, which provides care to those in the community in need of financial assistance with healthcare.
Third-grade teacher Angela Drope was one of eight educators to receive a mini-grant from Cyprus Credit Union this past January. The funds were used to purchase a classroom read-along set of the beloved children’s book Charlotte’s Web by E. B. White.
Jazz jerseys were donated by Cyprus Credit Union last week to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Salt Lake as well as Big Brothers Big Sisters of Utah. This was part of the credit union’s recent new-member promotion. For each new Cyprus account, a jazz jersey was given to the new member while another was donated to the nonprofit organizations above. We hope the jerseys help spread some team spirit!
Last Week, Karen Seo visited Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) in Salt Lake City. Karen is Cyprus Credit Union’s Vice President of Public Relations. She donated cookies and Valentine-themed stuffed animals for the families at the Ronald McDonald House. We’re lucky to have Karen as part of our team and always appreciate her thoughtfulness.
