Most people today are willing to pay a fair price for services received. If credit unions are to provide the service of processing checks, collecting checks, book-keeping, preparation, mailing of statements, and other work related to checking & other credit union accounts, a fair price must be charged for certain extra services.

The credit union stays in business by working in the best interest of all members. We cannot deny members the convenience of free accounts (like checking accounts with no monthly & no per-check fees etc); however we ask them to pay a service charge to recover the costs involved when using extra services. We do not ask members to pay for services they do not use. We assess only a service charge that is in direct proportion to our costs.
